Keep PEEPS® Pure!

This from the Cleveland Plain Dealer: Just Born, Inc. has filed suit filed in U.S. District Court in Indianapolis against Recycled Paper Greetings (owned by American Greetings Corp. of Brooklyn) for trademark infringement, false advertising, counterfeiting and deception for RPG's cards featuring likenesses of PEEPS® chicks.

After this is straightened out, Just Born should license Hallmark or some other trustworthy company to feature PEEPS® in greeting cards, and not just for Easter. I'd like to send PEEPS birthday cards all year long.

Weren't PEEPS greeting cards supposed to have been licensed for last Easter anyway? I never saw them. Did you?

"Peep on the Harvard Bridge"

It didn't win a prize, but this photo, entered by "Lady-Bug," was the best in the PEEPS® in Boston Photo Contest sponsored by Bostonist.

Homemade PEEPS®

As part of their Peeps Week 2009, Serious Eats has published "How to Make Peeps from Scratch." Their photos aren't very appetizing, but the recipe ingredients and instructions promise a delicious treat. Now if I could only find a good vegetarian PEEPS® recipe . . .

Literature Review Worthy of a Ph.D.!

Aaron Cohen, in Unlikely Words, has published "Marshmallow Peeps On the Internet – A Study."

Sure to stand as a beacon of research for years to come, this study provides links to many favorite and even new PEEPS® pages on the Web.

More Dioramas on the Way

Just Born, Inc. announced today that they'll be providing prizes for media organizations to give away when they sponsor PEEPS® diorama contests. I hope this will encourage a greater number of contests with a wider variety of entries.

Of course, too many entries mean too many bunny-themed dioramas submitted by those of lesser imaginations. Of course, the best always incorporate yellow chicks.
